now onto my latest drama craze. Like i said i love watching Korean Drama's and right now You're beautiful is topping the charts for me. The actors seem to be doing a good job portraying their very complex characters. The story is about a girl who pretends to be her brother by joining a pop idol group that he was supposed to sign with. As the story goes on she finds her self in mind boggling situations and how she gets out of them is even more hilarious.
Lets start with Hwang Tae Kyung played by Jang Geun Suk. I dunno much about the actor but the character he plays is very complex. HTK has a history of abandonment and therefore he doesn't like getting close to anyone. He is a cynic when it comes to faith, love and all things good. At first he came across as the bad guy but as you get to know him you realise under all that hard exterior lies a soft, warm and caring individual. As the leader of the group he keeps himself very aloof and can be really sarcastic. I love HTK because no matter how hard he tries to be you always see his soft side.
Next we Go Mi Nam/ Go Mi Nyu played by Park Shin Hye. She plays a double role in the drama. her role is one of twins and this is where it gets exciting she play both a girl and boy. She starts of as Go Mi Nyu who is a nun in training and is coerced by one of the Managers to act as her brother since he has had an accident and is in America getting treatment. This is where i thought that won't work i mean you can see staright off that she is a girl. But as the drama continued she looked more and more like a guy. Go Mi Nyu is a sweet happy go lucky character and you can imagine what happens when she meets with HTK.
Then we have Kang Shin Woo played by Jung Yong-hwa of the band CN Blue. He is the second lead in the drama. His character is one of a perfect male. When i first watched the first few Episodes i fell in love with him but then as usual i fell in love with HTK. Shin woo is kind, charming, and warm. He finds out early on that Go Mi Nam is a girl and looks after her. He doesn't tell her he knows and therein lies a problem because GMN is falling for HTK. I think my best scenes for KSW is when he takes GMN on a phone date... Now only if i could find a guy like that :)... In a way i feel bad for Shin woo since i most probably think he will end up alone unless the writers bring in a huge twist...
Last but not least we have Jeremy played by Lee HongKi from the band F.T.Island. Jeremy is such a lovable character i dont see how anyone can dislike him. His dressing is the best. He is so clueless as to whats going on. In the first few epi's he thinks Go Mi Nam is gay but that all changes and he becomes friends with Go Mi Nam always cheering her on and making her smile. It is only in Ep 10 that he discovers Go Mi Nam is actually a girl.
These four are the most hilarious characters i have seen in a long time.
